Programs Coordinator/Manager

Camp One Step by Children’s Oncology Services is searching for a full-time Programs Coordinator or Manager (commensurate with experience) to join a strong team of dedicated professionals.  Camp One Step provides kids with cancer and their families year-round camp experiences that foster joy, belonging, confidence, and lifelong friendships.  As part of the team, this individual will be a key partner in the ability to achieve this nonprofit organization’s mission and further serving the community through the work they will do to bring these programs to life.

The Programs Coordinator/Manager should be detail oriented, organized, and self-motivated; they should approach problem solving with creativity and positivity.  This role will have a combination of in office and remote responsibilities that may require working outside traditional work hours, so this individual should be comfortable managing their own time and working both autonomously and within a small team setting.  This Programs Coordinator/Manager may be asked to assist with the on the ground demands of programs throughout the year.  This individual will be working with all members of Camp One Step’s diverse community including volunteers and families, so they need to be confident in inclusive verbal and written communication.  The Programs Coordinator/Manager will report to a Director of Program Operations.

Program Coordinator/Manager Responsibilities

  • Create, market, and track program applications
  • Communicate with campers and volunteers in person and electronically via phone, email, app messaging
  • Manage camper and volunteer documents and additional responsibilities
  • Provide on-the-ground support at programs as needed
  • Document and disseminate information about post-program statistics and evaluation
  • Support Camp One Step Heroes initiative
  • Update website with program-related content
  • Attend and contribute during weekly programs team and staff meetings
  • Assist with projects as requested by Camp One Step team
  • Perform administrative-related duties as assigned by Programs Team
  • Required to be present in the office for predetermined staff needs
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned

  • Skilled in using Microsoft Office and Zoom, and comfortable learning new technology as applicable
  • Database management experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree or commensurate experience required

Camp One Step provides kids with cancer and their families year-round camp experiences that foster joy, belonging, confidence, and lifelong friendships; kids with cancer still need to be kids.  The Camp One Step team, made up of nine full-time individuals, works collectively to secure private funding and ensure success for all camper and volunteer participants across 12 annual programs, both digitally and in person.  The work performed to bring programs and events to life for the community is truly rewarding both from a result and collaboration perspective.
