Our Summer Camp mission is to create lasting memories, friendships, connections, and opportunities for our campers through community, support and shared experiences in a safe, fun, and unique camp environment. Safe, fun, and unique all proved true as we transitioned our 2020 Summer Camp to a Virtual setting! Campers (ages 7-19) experienced our program in a new way but with all of the fun of 14 days of virtual activities. The programming alternated between mornings and afternoons with approximately 2 hours minimum of a combination of online and offline activities provided daily. Activity kits were sent home for campers to stay connected, active and immersed in Camp One Step’s Summer Camp Virtual.
Standard Camp provides our youngest campers with a well-rounded, traditional camp experience. The virtual setting will provide an opportunity for kids to connect and to be silly. Days are filled with fort building, joke telling, arts and crafts, sing-a-longs, and dance parties! Standard Camp is all about fun and friendship.
*We recommend that Standard campers that are new to Summer Camp, or are between the ages of 7-9 sign up for one week or the other, but not both.
Stepping Up | Ages 11-12
Stepping Up offers preteen campers the chance to demonstrate independence and challenge themselves in new ways. Campers develop strong bonds as they participate in games and activities that encourage responsibility, teamwork, problem solving and camaraderie.
All Camp Experience (ACE) | Ages 13-16
ACE allows campers to experience a little bit of everything. In addition to traditional camp games, campers will be able to try their hand at baking, learn magic tricks, and can participate in a STEM project. ACE is the place for campers to feel like they can accomplish anything!
Campcraft | Ages 13-16
Camp Craft fosters confidence and self-sufficiency through outdoor living, outdoor education, cooking, and exploration, mastering the skills needed to authentically enjoy and experience nature. Camp crafters will eat food that they cook, take nature walks, and gather round the virtual campfire to tell ghost stories, strum guitars, microwave marshmallows, and bond over the day’s events. In camp craft, lasting friendships are built through teamwork and a true love for the outdoors.
Excursion | Ages 13-16
Excursion is designed for campers with a love of travel and adventure. This year, Excursion is going global! Thanks to the internet, campers will log many virtual miles visiting exciting destinations around the world like Britain, France, Disney World, and Wrigley Field! Campers also participate in traditional camp activities and create lasting bonds of friendship.
Water Sports | Ages 13-16
Water Sports is for campers with a strong interest in the aquatic world. The first week of Water Sports focuses on the underwater world and campers can learn more about SCUBA, kayaking, and other water based activities. Second week gives campers the opportunity to learn about other water based activities such as water skiing and will be getting really creative with a virtual boat day. Both weeks focus on building confidence and camaraderie through a number of activities both in and out of the water.
EXCEL | Ages 17-19
EXCEL is for young adults who want to Experience Excellence and Challenge at Every Level (EXCEL). EXCEL campers take away important social, leadership, and problem-solving skills that allow them to thrive as young adults, while having the opportunity to enjoy their remaining opportunity to be a camper.
